In recent years, following an ecological perspective, the owners of Rifugio Grand Tournalin have made some changes to the structure by installing photovoltaic panels to produce electricity, thermo-wood burning stove for hot water, space suitable for the collection of waste.
Rifugio Grand Tournalin is located 2600mt in the grassy basin of the top Alpe Tournalin, is a three-floors building in copper and stone.
Built in 1994 by the Family Becquet, the refuge has 45 beds in cozy rooms furnished in wood from 4 to 9 beds, ready to accommodate hikers of all levels.
Il Rifugio Tournalin has cozy dormitories, furnished in wood with mountain views of our beautiful valley, to make the stay as pleasant as possible.
It is also available a service bar and restaurant with great attention to the tradition taste of the region Val d’Aosta.
There is also a picnic area.
In the restaurant of Rifugio Grand Tournalin, the kitchen offers typical dishes of the Aosta Valley, prepared with care, as tradition dictates, on the wood stove, as the classic polenta, cakes of apples or cakes of pears and chocolate.
Polenta and carbonada are the main attraction, but a particular attention goes to the cheeses of Fromagerie Haut Val d'Ayas, those of goat of goats grazing in the meadows around the refuge.
A cozy bar is available to guests with drinks for everyone and great beers, such as the craft beer of Aosta Valley, "Les Bières du Grand St. Bernard", (to try the beer at génépy that goes well with the local cakes) and liqueurs of Aosta Valley.
Located in the amphitheater of the Valley of Nana, the Rifugio Grand Tournalin stands as a base for numerous excursions.
In this area there are 5 peaks of 3,000mt representing a great gym to train at altitude, in view of other trips on the glacier of Monte Rosa, the Cervino, Mont Blanc, Gran Paradiso.
Base rate: from 43€ to 45€ per day for half board (according to season).
Children under 5 are free + 20% discount up to 12 years
