The slow uniqueness of Cigolare agri-campsite is the possibility to sleep in a Yurt. A Yurt is an eco-friendly house not only because it respects the environment, but also humankind. Staying in a Yurt offers the opportunity to live an experience in total harmony with nature: living in a circular house which welcomes guests immediately, allowing them to rediscover and share moments of their vacation with other travelers. Cà Cigolara’s Yurt tents were bought directly in Mongolia through the association “Friends of Mongolia”: they are made with natural materials such as wood, felt, cotton and yak cords. They are waterproof and an ideal insulation in warm or cold weather. The Yurts are placed on wooden platforms; the internal furnishing is simple but cozy. The owners are friendly, always available to inform their guests about the activities that are going on in the area. They also cooperate with GAS (Ethical purchasing groups).
In the Apennines near Parma, between Toscana and Liguria, right on the border of the protected WWF oasis is located Cà Cigolare, an agri-campsite. In its surroundings it is easy to see deer, wild boar, hedgehogs and other wild animals. The owners cultivate organic fruit, vegetables, currants, blackberries, blueberries and also lavender from which precious essential oils is produced. Waiting for guests, especially the youngest, are many animals: three horses, a donkey, 4 goats, chickens, cats and dogs.
Cà Cigolare agri-campsite is ready to create your vacation with you to make it an unforgettable experience. This is the ideal place for people who like picking mushrooms, mountain biking and quads, but also for cooking and bread making lovers. Guests can pick from a variety of activities: yoga, dance, martial arts, birdwatching and stargazing, hiking and horseback riding. For one or more families, groups of friends or an association, it is possible to ask for a tailored program to spend time in nature. It is possible to ask for a totally relaxed vacation or the organization of a birthday party, a bachelor or bachelorette and even a graduation party. The agri-campsite has a wide multifunctional room and 5 hectares of fields and woods that border the WWF oasis of Gherardi. It also manages contacts with guides and a nearby riding stable.
All meals offered by Cà Cigolara share a common characteristic: from the field to the table. For breakfast we offer fruit in season, jams, cakes and homemade juices. Dinner is made with the garden’s products; cold cuts, pasta and tortellini are homemade, grilled meat, bread and flatbread are cooked in the wood-burning oven. Simplicity and traditions are granted also to guests who prefer a vegetarian diet: eggs and chicken are homegrown. During the season, porcini mushrooms and truffles are available (Borgotaro is known for its IGP porcini mushrooms). For food not produced in the agri-campsite such as beef, cheese, milk, honey, wine and flowers, the owners adopted a km 0 production chain by buying products from local producers. Cà Cigolara is a certified organic business.
Starting from the agri-campsite it is possible to visit Compiano Castle, its old village, the Bardi fortress, the old village of Corchia. Not too far away it is possible to visit the beautiful cities of Parma and Pontremoli, the Cinque Terre are an hour away easily reachable by train. Moreover, near Cà Cigolare there are many areas with rivers that are safe for swimming as they are still uncontaminated.
Cà Cigolara agri-campsite has 4 Yurta tents: one for 3 people, one for 4, and two with 6 beds.
Prices are referred to one single season:
- Yurt with 3 beds € 45 (the price is per day per 3 people and includes breakfast)
- Yurt with 4 beds € 60 (the price is per day per 4 people and includes breakfast)
- Yurt with 6 beds €90 (the price is per day per 6 people and includes breakfast)
We can also prepare dinner for our guests and based on the menu the costs is included between 12€ and 20€ per person.
WiFi connection is included in the price. Bicycles are free for the guests.
