Staying at the Rifugio del Brigante means being welcomed with courtesy and availability, receiving information to participate in local activities during vacation times while tasting local products.
Vegetarian and children’s menus are available to the guests.
The water served is delicious. It is diuretic and comes from a local spring.
Towels are changed every 3 days and linens once a week if not requested differently by the guests.
The owners do not have their own laundry machine but bring the laundry to an external service to avoid water pollution in the park.
The owners are animal lovers and welcome dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets and small pets.
The Rifugio del Brigante is located in the hillside of Mainarde, in the building that was once Palazzo Mascio, an elegant structure from XIX century that was plundered by brigands of the notorious fire gang. The building has been completely restored and elegantly furnished.
The B&B has six large and luminous bedrooms, with bathrooms, heating, TV, a reading room with a fireplace, an internet point, a panoramic terrace, a courtyard made with river stones, a restaurant (that accommodates 40/50 people) located in the old wine cellar with stone arches and its authentic floor which was used in the past by children to squeeze the collected grapes to make wine.
For breakfast, there are homemade sweets and jams, toasted bread with butter, juices and cappuccino are served.
For lunch, delicious dishes made with fresh products are prepared.
In the area to be visited are Venafro with its Pandone castle and the naturalistic oasis of “Mortine”.
Not to miss is also Isernia with the Italic theater of Pietrabbondante, the village of Castel San Vincenzo and the excavation of San Vincenzo al Volturno.
The cost fir double occupancy per night is between 50€ and 80€; breakfast included.
One room is equipped to accommodate people with disabilities, with parking and an access ramp.
External areas are freely accessible to all.
In each bedroom there is a TV while free WiFi is in the reading room, in the terrace and the courtyard.
Available to the guests are mountain bikes, board games, Sky in the common room and a shuttle service from and to the train stations and airports.
