Mugnos Charme Living B&B is a hospitality provider active in Slow Tourism and in the celebration of local culture.
The owners, Francesco and Piero, are active in the valorization and promotion of their territory, typical local products and everything that comes from the land.
They support good gastronomy involving small wine producers that make high-quality organic products, olive producers that make D.O.P oil from Monti Eblei, the most celebrated and appreciated over the past few years, even winning prizes, such as the oil produced with Tonda Iblea olives. Upon request, the guests of B&B Mugnos can participate in:
- Guided tours of the territory: guided tours of places connected to Vega (Cavalleria Rusticana” and “Mastro Don Gesualdo); guided tours of the monuments and the necropolis present in Licodia Eubea and the archeological museum “Antonio di Vita”;
- Tastings of cheese products at the B&B Mugnos or at nearby cheese producers;
- Tastings of wines at the B&B Mugnos or at nearby wine producers;
- Initiatives relative to the traditions, history, features, advantages to people’s health relative to the olive oil D.O.P. from Iblei mountains;
- Visit to centuries-old olive groves;
- Tasting of “Patacò”, a typical food of traditional farm culture made with cicerchia (a legume);
- Sicilian cooking classes;
- Painting classes.
B&B Mugnos Charme Living offers a 10% discount to the holder of passport Slow Tourism.
Based on the time of the year, it offer to its guests a small gift “Prova d’Autore” by the painter Francesco Frazzetto and one of the following welcome gifts:
- A plate with typical sweets;
- A plate with fresh mixed fruit;
- A tasting of ricotta, cheese and local bread.
B&B Mugno is glad to offer its guest a small guide of the area, containing info about the several attractions downloadable in PDF format.
Moreover, in cooperation with the local Archeoclub of Licodia Eubea, a guided tour of the territory and of its rich historical and cultural patrimony are organized.
Mugnos B&B is managed by Francesco Frazzetto e Piero Verre.
Francesco has notable experience in the marketing and tourism hospitality sectors.
He is also a passionate artist, and for over 20 years, he has been painting and creating artistic artworks.
Piero works as interior designer.
He is highly creative also in the reutilization of neglected objects: after a short period, this interest turned into an actual life style.
The two owners met each other in 2010 and they immediately started working together on the project of creating a tourism facility.
They set out to create something that, in addition to authentic and warm hospitality, in addition to attention to detail in the furnishing and comforts, there also be a careful cleaning and hygiene that could transmit with enthusiasm to its guests the knowledge of traditions and local products and the valorization of the whole territory.
Mugnos B&B Charme Living has become a meeting place for those, like Francesco and Piero, who wish to take time to taste, discover smells, flavors, and the colors of a territory reach in history and culture.
The B&B is located in the heart of the ancient village Licodia Eubea in the beautiful and authentic Sicilian landscape that harkens back to antiquity.
The historic building that hosts the B&B has been recently restored and it faces the ancient Palazzo Mugnos, where the name of the facility comes from, and to the small square of Chiesa di Santa Margherita on the back of which the remains of the old Castle of Principi Santapau still stand.
The B&B Mugnos has two bedrooms:
- Mugnos bedroom: a double room that can become quadruple thanks to a very comfortable sofa bed, furnished with antique furniture and precious fabrics. In the bedroom there is a bathroom, TV, WIFI, air conditioning and heating. It has a splendid view on the square of Chiesa di Santa Margherita.
- Santapu bedroom: a double room furnished with antique furniture and valuable fabrics. . In the bedroom there is a bathroom, TV, WIFI, air conditioning and heating. It has a splendid view on the square of Chiesa di Santa Margherita and on the remains of the old Castle of Principi Santapau.
When waking up, the guests can start their day with an abundant breakfast made with local products and served in the internal room during the winter and on the nice balcony during the warm months.
It is possible to chose amongst three different breakfasts:
- sweet breakfast with homemade tarts are the best part of this kind of meal at Mugnos B&B. Pies made with mandarin and orange jams, or those with ricotta cheese and cinnamon sprinkled with pistachio, are all homemade. The owner also offers a delicious zucchini and carrot pie, the typical bread of durum wheat prepared with a cultured starter, a true treat if served when still warm with butter and the many mandarin, orange, black mulberry, apricot and peach jams, the “grandmother’s” biscuits made after an old recipe with cinnamon and olive oil. On top of that are yogurt, fruit juices, coffee and cappuccinos.
- salty breakfast: amongst salty treats local cheese. The classical fresh pecorino, caciotte from Ragusa and king caciocavallo are certainly an excellent way to begin the meal above all if matched with small dates, red peppers, zucchini, cantaloupe and yellow pumpkin jams. There are also different kinds of cold cuts, from spicy or sweet salami to the salami made with Nero d’Avola ( a wine) or Sant’Angelo di Brolo. The best thing is in any case salami made from donkey meat prepared in Sicily. Dried tomatoes, only from Pachino, and also zucchini and eggplants preserved in oil and other delicious things. All of this is accompanied by typical bread of durum wheat prepared with a cultured starter.
- breakfast with warm bread: the surrounding territory is known for its numerous products of excellence in gastronomy, and cheese products are certainly part of them. Warm ricotta and fresh baked bread are certainly a culinary experience to try.
Thanks to its strategic position, Mugnos B&B Charme Living offers the possibility to visit the vast and rich territory full of cultural resources that inspired the great writer Giovanni Verga to write many novellas.
There are numerous destinations for tourism focused on wine and food that are full of events, feasts and folk celebrations in the surrounding areas.
Amongst the most relevant products of the area are extra virgin olive oil, wine, grapes and almonds.
Of particular interest is the representation organized for Easter where evocative processions and old chanting commemorate Christ’s passion, thereby making Licodia Eubea an interesting historical and religious destination.
Mugnos B&B is located in Licodia Eubea, in the center of the southern-eastern part of Sicily, a destination strictly connected to the places narrated by Verga and to the Cavalleria Rusticana in Vizzini.
Caltagirone, where travelers can find the beautiful ceramics made by expert masters, is not far.
Further north, but still nearby, it is possible to visit Mineo, homeland to Luigi Capuana and Miltello in Val di Catania, full of churches, monasteries and museums which it has been recently recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site.
In the south, surrounded by beautiful views, there are symbolic examples of the Sicilian Baroque period.
Ragusa Ibla, Modica and Scicli, on top to the beautiful Noto, can be seen by tourists in all their beauty and charm.
Just a few km away it is possible to reach the castle of Donnafugata.
Seaside lovers can instead visit some of the most beautiful and wild locations Punta Secca, Donnalucata, Bosco Randello, Torre di Mezzo, Marina di Ragusa and Pozzallo, all enchanting places that became famous thanks to the TV series Montalbano, Not to forget Pachino, Pozzallo and the Isola delle Correnti.

- Double room single use: 40€ per night low season; 60€ per night high season;
- Double room: 60€ per night low season; 100€ per night high season;
- Triple room: 90€ per night low season; 120€ per night high season;
- Quadruple room: 120€ per night low season; 150€ per night high season.
Breakfast is included in the price and is served between 8.00 and 10.30.
The owners are ready to meet special requests.
