Care for details and original solutions, complemented by a profound respect for the environment, can be easily seen in the low-impact installations, such as the phytodepuration system, the biomass and solar heating system, the LED/ fluorescent lighting system and the recycle of wood. The owners are always available to provide information about the territory and local events. The rooms on the ground floor are equipped for disabled people.
Cascina Rodiani, an ancient farmhouse of XVII century, has been recently refurbished and is particularly dedicated to the preservation of the environment. As a matter of fact, the facility has a low environmental impact and the owners have put some extra care in preserving the old farmhouse style and in using the appropriate materials to furnish the 5 bedrooms, the living room (which was once the old stall) and the entertainment room, which was once the old barn.
In the 3 ha.of land, guests can enjoy relaxing walks among the fruit trees, the olive trees or inside the chestnut wood. A Wi-Fi connection is available for free, but there is no TV inside.
Breakfast is served with organic and fair-trade products, either local or produced internally. It is served in the living room in front of the fireplace or under the portico under the morning sun. The atmosphere is always courteous and private.
The farmhouse is located up a hill of the Regional Natural Park of Spina Verde di Como, and has a wonderful view. It is possible to have relaxing walks or cycle tours on the park’s trails, which lead to many places of interest. It is also possible to take the car and reach Lario (Lake of Como) in 15 minutes, or Ceresio (lake of Lugano). Como, Lugano and Varese are the closest cities, while Milano is 45 minutes away and the border with Switzerland is reachable in 2 hours.
Other naturalistic places to visit are the Park of Gole della Breggia (10 mins), Mount San Giorgio (UNESCO heritage) (15 mins). Within very short walking distance, is the Sanctuary of Drezzo (2 mins. walking).
