Sustainable farm life on an Italian nature refuge
We respect the environment while minimizing waste and CO2 emissions, actively supporting alternative energies by encouraging education about sustainability and eco-friendly use of resources, also for our guests. We grow what we eat and cook our products in a sustainable way. We offer activities related to the territory and believe in electric mobility. We encourage Bartering
At "Casale il Baronetto" we produce and preserve much of what we eat.
The Bio-Dynamic vegetable garden, provides us with our seasonal vegetables, and the olive grove, our extra virgin oil
Casale il Baronetto is member of Civiltà Contadina where we have the possibility to find or exchanging ancient seeds in open pollination for our vegetable garden and orchard, as Seed Saver we help to safeguard the biodiversity of our rural world
Our kitchen is not available to guests, but it is possible for those who wish to do so, to join in our family’s meals, by giving us prior warning and by contributing to the cost

Relaxing walks immersed in nature, Trekking with Mountain Bike, with the possibility of renting a bike, visits to numerous villages, mountain and sea trips , excursions to several natural parks or just reading a good book in our silent retreat, being caressed by the warm sun, whilst looking at breathtaking views and experiencing magical moments.
Dependent upon a reasonable number of participants, we can offer courses such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture or workshops on how to construct compost bins, solar ovens and dryers.
For the tourists who have the Slow Tourism Passport, there is a discount of 10% of the price and a welcome basket with organic wine, homemade bread and fresh fruit organic home grown.
Historic building dating from the late 18th century, carefully restored using original recycled materials found on site, with an agricultural plot of approx. 1.5 acres partially wooded with an olive grove, an orchard and an area of pasture. It is situated in a dominant position in the “Contrada il Baronetto”, now Piano S.Vincenzo, Castiglione Messer Raimondo Teramo.
The apartments “il Sole” and “la Luna” are annexed to the main building and are well equipped. They include: a double bedroom, a bathroom,a kitchenette and a living room with double deck bed. TV is not available, the rooms are non-smoking. In each apartment can sleep up to four people, is accessed by a separate entrance and has a car park. The apartment "la Luna" has a spacious terrace, perfectly suited for couples with children.
For our guests we have a shaded space for barbecue and outdoor kitchen. For children a playground.
Casale il Baronetto has is not licensed to serve food and drinks, but on request we serve breakfast of the house with our own organic products.
Guests can dine with us in the family with the rules of the social eating, savoring so our products grown in a sustainable way.
Abruzzo is the green heart of Europe. 60% of its territory is covered in National Parks.
It is the least populated Italian region.
The apartments are situated half way between the mountains and the sea. “Casale il Baronetto” is the perfect setting for exploring Abruzzo.
In the National Parks there is a wide range of wild life including the protected Chamois, Marsican bears and Apennine wolves. There is an extensive range of birds, with Golden Eagles visiting us most days. Abruzzo is a mountainous province including the Grand Sasso, which is the highest point in the Apennines. The peaks can be seen clearly from “Casale il Baronetto”, The National Park provides a wide range of activities like walking, trekking, climbing, skiing, horse riding around Campo Imperatore. Abruzzo has hundreds of historical and picturesque hill top towns.
Castiglione, Montefino and Penne are prime examples.
The coast line has numerous Blue Flag beaches. The nearest ones are and sandy with shallow waters – ideal for chidren.
