Piana dei Mulini is under the special supervision of the Ministry of Heritage and Cultural Activities as an area of high historical and cultural interest.
The spacious hotel offers an old-time atmosphere thanks to its archeological site that offers the possibility of seeing pieces of history narrated by a evocative architecture with arches, canals, sluices, jetty, and the remains of the millstones of the old mill, the majestic turbine of the hydroelectric station activated by the force of the water of the waterfalls that flowed through the main canal that goes back to the Sabellians times, still functioning today.
The food offered to the guests aims at promoting and valorizing the territory and it is made of natural products from Molise, rich in authentic flavors.
The facility is surrounded by the green nature of Parco Fluviale running along the Biferno river, which is part of the Site of Community Importance (SCI).
The whole area is completely developed and organized to allow people to practice jogging, nordic walking, bird-watching, and trails for foot or bike.
Educational laboratories and cultural events are organized.

The sprawling hotel La Piana dei Mulini is a historical residence built at the end of the XVIII century.
It was completely built with stone and it extends across 80 linear meters like a small village.
In the past it was a water mill, a center for wool dyeing and a hydroelectric station.
Today, after careful restoration and preservation works, it has historical and cultural patrimony under the special supervision of the Ministry of Heritage and Cultural Activities.
Guests are welcomed in comfortable and refined accommodations.
The bedrooms are located in the four top parts of the building: the first two are “La Masseria”, the second “I Mulini” and the third “La Cantrale”.
“La Centrale” and “I Mulini” were fully restored: in the past they were used for activities connected to the hydroelectric station and to the mills and to the accommodation of the station keeper located on the XVIII century water mill.
Today the facility, located above the canal used to flow the water for the activation of the turbine, has three double rooms with views on the canals and on Parco Fluviale.
Restoration works were possible thanks to the involvement of local artisans and by mainly using original materials that make the inner rooms welcoming.

The restaurant service is organized in four different rooms - la Sala Grande, la Saletta, il Portico e la Corte – and all of them have their own history.
Some are based on the use of original materials and refined style and can host important ceremonies, banquets, conferences and workshops.
Others better suit romantic dinners, special occasions, buffet lunches and memorable working dinners.
There is also an area for outside receptions, with elegant buffet and appetizers.
Food prepared at La Piana dei Mulini is made of natural products, rich in flavor and typical of Molise.
La Piana dei Mulini offers its guests several outdoor activities: from canoeing to rafting, from fishing that respects the environment to bird watching and photography dedicated to nature.
