Well Done
The farmhouse Torrazzetta covers an area of about 40 hectares, of which 17 are planted with vines, and the remainder in wheat, corn, orchards and woods.
Since 1984 it is a biological structure. From these soils are derived raw materials for the production of wines, brandies, vinegars, honeys and jams for sale in the farm shop, and flour to produce bread and homemade pasta, both with white flour of wheat or with whole wheat flour.
The farm produces white and red wines, sparkling wines (white and rosé) and dessert wines and meditation wines.
Torrazzetta was the first farmhouse in the province of Pavia (since 1984), it is situated in the foothills of the Oltrepò Pavese. Based in an old farmhouse, renovated respecting its ancient origins but with modern comforts.
The company has ample rustic and refined indoor and outdoor pools, a restaurant with large rooms for every need, 32 bedrooms (all with bathrooms, air conditioning and Wi-Fi) and rooms equipped for meetings and courses that meet the various needs.
Inside there is also "La Cantina del Pellegrino", a space created from the staves of the barrels, where it’s possible to consume breakfasts and coffee breaks and taste or buy the farm’s products directly. Outside, in addition to the vineyards, there are several gardens, a space for the animals (pigs Vietnamese, black sheeps, farm animals and the donkey Pepe), a pool surrounded by greenery, tennis court and soccer field and ample parking.
The 32 rooms are divided as follows:
-Rooms Del Pozzo, 8 rooms, all with air conditioning, LED TV, hair dryer and Wi-Fi.
-Rooms Del Mulino, 12 rooms equipped with air conditioning, LED TV, hair dryer and Wi-Fi.
-Rooms Della Cantina: 1 standard room and the 5 Suite, gallery rooms where the ground floor is the living area with a sofa bed and chair, bathroom with shower. On the mezzanine, there is the sleeping area with bed and bathroom without shower. There is also a small balcony that overlooks the pool fence fencing.
-Rooms Del Fienile: three bedrooms, each consisting of two sleeping areas double (or twin) with shared bathroom between the two sleeping areas, to have their own privacy while staying together.
All rooms have air conditioning, LED TV, hair dryer and Wi-Fi.
In common spaces, provided with Wi-Fi, there is a music room with piano and guitar for guests, a reading room, a cafe bar area and tennis table.
The kitchen of the company is based on authentic flavors and reinterpreted ancient local’s recipes of Lombardia and Oltrepò area. It is used whole wheat flour, homemade bread and pasta.
Foods are made with mostly organic products, mainly produced on the farm and are paired with wines and sparkling wines (white, red and rosé) from organic farming products obtained in the company.
Some first courses are: the Stang â l’üs (whole meal dough sticks in three different colors because they are mixed with carrots, beets and spinach, with a tomato sauce with vegetables) and the caserecce (homemade pasta with flour wheat) with smoked goose breast sauce, cream and salad.
Among the main courses there are snails, meat or pie stuffed with radicchio and potato.
The typical sweet is the Büselâ, homemade cake with whole wheat flour and fruit served warm with a spoonful of cream.
Along the paths of art is the main town: Pavia.
Of particular note the Visconti Castle and the periodic exhibitions in its stables, with the adjacent park Giovanni Paolo II, the Cathedral, the Basilica of San Michele Maggiore from the complex of low and high reliefs and San Pietro in Ciel d'Oro -where it is preserved the relics of St. Augustine-, the University of Pavia formed in 825, with the school of rhetoric for officials of the kingdom of Lotario, boasts illustrious students such as Spallanzani, Volta, Foscolo and Golgi. Approximate to the farmhouse, there are the Certosa di Pavia, the city of Vigevano with its Piazza Ducale and the historical-artistic Valley Lomellina, the village of St. Albert, with the remains of the ancient abbey of St. Albert.
Other place of interest is Varzi, a medieval town that played a key role in trade along the Via del Sale and Volpedo, birthplace of the famous painter Pellizza, author of the "Fourth Estate".
Paths that allow you to range from the Versa Valley to the Val Staffora to the Tortona hills.
Among the landscapes and nature there is the Botanical Garden of Pietra Corva, 950 meters above sea level on the northwest slope of the mountain of the same name. Of interest there is the Oasis of Sant'Alessio and the the Salt Road, a great journey to discover different local reality from Varzi to Genova.
The Via Francigena, known as the long road that starts in Canterbury and arrives in Rome (St. Peter's tomb), in the Province of Pavia includes the Shrine of Our Lady of Bozzole (Garlasco), the Park of Ticino, and the floodplain of the Basso Pavese.
It’s possible to go to Salice Terme, one of the most recognized Italian spas with its "Fonte Sales" or do Airboat on the rivers Po and Ticino.
Prices range from 45 Euros per person for the service B&B per day, up to 190€ of the apartment for 5 people.
