The family Thuile, managers of the farmhouse Sandwiesen-Hof, welcome each guest with an aperitif of sparkling apple cider.
The property was first awarded in Italy with the certificate "CasaClimaWelcome", a quality seal for responsible tourism. The seal is based on the three pillars of sustainability: ecology, economy and socio-cultural aspects that correspond to the concepts Nature, Life and Transparency.
The energy saving is done and the roof surfaces are green. There are bikes available to guests.
The farmhouse Sandwiesen-Hof is managed by Magdalena Thuile, a graduate in business administration, coach and assessor of the EFQM quality. It is nestled among the apple orchards, with a view of the mountains surrounding Bolzano and Merano, in the heart of South Tyrol.
The design of the structure was awarded the environment prize of Trentino Alto Adige. The three pillars of sustainability are: NATURE, which analyzes the performance of the structure in terms of protecting the environment and resources.
The area LIFE considers criteria related to comfort, interior quality and the use of local materials and products.
The TRANSPARENCY assesses not only the quality of design and construction, but also the environmental management of the accommodation.
The inner surfaces of the apartments are environmentally friendly, working in clay; the oiled floors are in oak wood or spatuled with marble flour on a simple lime.
Green areas on the roofs of both houses (cottage and private home), want to reward the nature of what has been gained in the construction of the farm.
The farm offers two apartments on the first floor communicating with one another via a terrace.
There is the Green apartment that has a spacious living room with kitchenette and sofa bed, double bedroom, 1 bathroom with shower and toilet, sunny balcony with panoramic views of 14 sqm.
While the Red apartment has a living room with kitchenette with sofa bed, 2 double bedrooms, a bathroom with shower and toilet, a separate service, sunny balcony with panoramic views.
In both structures, the inside surfaces let air through the clay spatula or to lime spatula; floor heating in winter and cooling floor in summer; Internal ventilation rich in oxygen through a controlled ventilation system; plenty of light coming through the heat windows; use of energy-saving lamps; solid wood furniture; bed linen in pure cotton or linen. Water quality in the kitchen and in the bathroom has been improved through technology "Grander".
To the guests are proposed fully equipped kitchen, with electric hob and extractor fan and dishwasher; a set of steel pans, toaster, kettle, kitchen scale, coffee and espresso, dryer and complimentary dishes to set the table; flat screen TV with reception of satellite TV, CD player and radio; quality mattresses, bed linen, safe; A folding baby cot, seat adjustable table, books, board games; towels, hair dryer; ping pong, soccer; covered parking; bicycles; umbrellas; agricultural products from own cultivation; W-Lan.
The farmhouse offers a beautiful garden with deck chairs and umbrellas and an angle of herbs along with fruits and vegetables of the season, a small playground for children and a shop where guests can buy homemade products.
The farmhouse Sandwiesen-Hof does not offer meals, but home-made products, including the most famous of which is the sparkling apple, unique in South Tyrol, apple cider, apple juice, the mint syrup and the elder, dried fruits, fruit jam, fruits compote of own garden, tomato sauce of own production.
The "Sandwiesen-Hof" is located in the heart of the Val d'Adige, surrounded by orchards, in a position of absolute tranquility.
In its immediate vicinity (0.4 km) there is the public swimming pool of natural water Gargazzone.
There is also a bike path that runs along the river Adige, which leads directly to the north in the town of Merano and up to Passo Resia or to the south via the capital Bolzano to Lake Garda.
On the way back it can take the train, uploading even bicycle. Four Citybikes are available to guests that will enjoy exploring the beautiful surroundings by bicycle.
The farmhouse is a starting point for hikes in the mountains of South Tyrol, in the ways most wooded, or for walks in the small village of Gargazzone. By train it can visit the most important cities such as Bolzano and Merano.
Nearby, the possibilities for sports as diverse as fishing golf, paragliding flights, river booting (5-10 km) are endless.

In spring it can admire the blooming orchards. In summer there is a natural swimming pool, tennis courts and bikes to combine physical activity and relaxation.
In Autumn on the nearby slopes, it enjoys unforgettable walks in the mountains. This time of year to Sandwiesen-Hof is an intense activity of fruit picking.
In Winter: all the winter sports facilities are easily accessible. It can also go to visit the Christmas markets of Merano and Bolzano in the pre-Christmas period.
Moving it’s possible to go to Terme of Merano and to the gardens of Trauttmansdorff, but also to the Messner Mountain Museum and hiking.
he farmhouse is open all year and is attractive in any season, for that reason there is no price differentiation between low and high season.
GREEN apartment for 2-4 people: Price for two people: 90€. Each additional person: €10/night.
RED apartment for 2-6 people: Price for two people: 110€. Each additional person: €10/night.
Prices are per night per apartment for two people. The city tax of 0.70€ per person from 14 years is not included in the price. The price includes the final cleaning and linen change. Terms and conditions:
• For a stay of less than four nights, we calculate a 25% increase on the price for each night.
• The day of arrival the apartments are available starting at 15h. On the day of departure, please vacate the apartment by 10 am.
• The schedule of expenditures refers to the number of guests, who have booked the apartment.
• For a final booking confirmation we ask for a deposit equivalent to 3 nights.
