Since 1997 Le Macchie Alte is guaranteed AIAB (Italian Association for Organic Agriculture) which certified the entire company as well as its organic products.
On the farm are bred Maremma cows, pigs of Cinta Senese, wild animals and poultry.
It produces extra virgin olive oil, honey flower bush, veal and pig meat, sauces, creams for toasts and jams.
No tv for a choice of the owners, but board games and relaxation room with fireplace.
For nature lovers are two hiking trails: The Fontanile (length 6 km) and The Seven Poggi (length 9 km).
Also provided horseback riding with an experienced guide, also suitable for those who want to try for the first time this exciting experience.

Le Macchie Alte is an organic farm in Tuscany.
Covering 420 hectares, in the farm are cultivated olive trees, cereals and forage all in compliance with EU rules for organic farming.
From Le Macchie Alte it’s possible to start to walk or to take a horseback ride along the trails and meet wildlife.
The farm Le Macchie Alte consists of three houses: one dating back to the early '500 and the other two in the early '900, renovated respecting the characteristics of rural Maremma of Tuscany.
The rooms are 12, all with private bathrooms. In the restaurant it serves breakfast and dinner on large wooden tables.
Wi-fi provided to guests in the common areas and in most rooms.
At breakfast is served a buffet with cakes, pies and homemade biscuits, farm’s organic jams, honey, yogurt, cottage cheese, fresh croissants, cereals, breads, meats and cheeses.
Among the typical proposals are: Acquacotta, Pici with garlic, ravioli with ricotta and spinach, sliced of Maremma, Wild boar stew served with Morellino di Scansano wine.
On request are cooked vegetarian dishes, for celiac or for any form of intolerance or allergy.
From here it’s possible to go to Montemerano with its quaint medieval center, Manciano with the Aldobrandeschi Fortress, the charming Terme di Saturnia famous for their sulphurous waters.

Prices are per person per day. Children under 4 years are free; for those aged 4 to 12 years 50 %.
The single room has a supplement of 8 euros per night.
Half board includes accommodation, breakfast and dinner, with courses from appetizers to desserts, including drinks (water, wine, coffee, grappa and bitter).
