The farmhouse Etna-Mare is a family business. The company lies in the pre-park area on the northern slope of Etna.
The farmland that covers more than 5 hectares is cultivated for 3 hectares of olive groves, vineyards and nuts with organic farming methods and for 2 hectares in pasture and coppice woods.
There is Aaso a small breeding of poultry.
In the farmhouse Etna Mare there is separate collection of waste, using low-energy light bulbs and LEDs, shall, in addition, water conservation and the damp composting.
Finally, on request, it is possible to make company visits and guidance on the agricultural works.
Etna Mare is available to offer a discount of 10% of the stay to travelers upon arrival at the hotel will show the Slow Tourism Passport.
As a welcome gift, the farmhouse offers within each apartment of corporate typical products.
The company is immersed in the Etna countryside, in the valleys of the hills between Piedimonte Etneo and Linguaglossa, Agriturismo Etna-Mare is pleased to welcome customers in an atmosphere of relaxation and nature.
The structure consists of three independent apartments with kitchen use.
One bedroom apartment called "Pergolato di Kiwi" for 4/6 people composed of a bedroom, living room-bedroom with fireplace, kitchen and bathroom; air-conditioned, furnished and equipped with appliances.
There is a studio called "The ancient balance" for 2/4 people with double bed and sofa bed, kitchenette and bathroom; air-conditioned, furnished and equipped with appliances.
The other studio called "The ancient Barrel" for 2/4 people has double bed and bunk bed, kitchenette and bathroom; air-conditioned, furnished and equipped with appliances.
For lovers of tradition there is an old palm grove from the early 1900s with intact architecture and original features and a small museum of rural life tickling customer’s curiosity.
There is also a small playground for children. To complete and make unique the farmhouse, there are wide green spaces and terraces:
• Roof terrace with Etna and sea view
• Relaxation terrace in the shade of oak trees with views to the hills of Etna
• Roof terrace "solarium" with ancient cistern from the wrought iron arc
The main body of the company, where there is the farmhouse, has a natural form of an amphitheatre, made up of many small terraces with dry stone walls made of lava stone.
This position overlooking the valley that slips towards the beach of Marina di Cottone.
In every season, there is one more reason to come and visit us: from flowering of the fruit trees that paint the white valley in the spring to the autumn, where they take space in shades of yellow and red.
The summer, with a lush green oasis that lets you find fresh, isolating themselves from the powerful Sicilian heat.
Finally the winter, where the deep blue sea intersect in the white Etna snowy whiteness.
The farmhouse does not make the food service but only on request of the guests we organize tastings of typical products and preparations of homemade bread with a wood oven.
A strategic point for those who love nature, relaxation and who want to immerse themselves in discovering the history and culture of northeastern Sicily: Just 20 km it’s possible to touch an altitude of 1800 of Mount Etna, Taormina is only at 15km, the Alcantara Valley at 18km, only 45km to Catania and the sea just 9 km.
At the request of the only guests, we organize excursions to Mount Etna and its surroundings.
Prices of apartments ranging from a minimum of 20 euro to a maximum of 37 Euros per person per night, depending on the period chosen.
On the third bed is made a discount 50% and on the fourth bed there is a discount of 60%.
The price includes linen and consumption.
Extra services (excursions, rental vehicles etc) are paid separately.
