Falcare Farmhouse is located about 550 meters above sea level, in the beautiful scenery of an upland in the heart of the of Gargano’s National Park.
The Farmhouse is part of the group of "Masserie Didattiche", award given by the Puglia Region, with the aim of familiarizing visitors what life was like (working or not) in the ancient farms of Puglia.
The company is registered in the list of the WWF Panda Farms, since it has received recognition for its commitment to protecting the environment.
The Farmhouse uses solar panels for hot water and photovoltaic panels for electricity, they recycle rainwater, practice waste collection and the heating is with wood and gas.
Coccia’s family manages the structure, the company is organic certified and produces lupines, oats, wheat, barley, potatoes and olive oil, cereals, fruit, vegetables.
In the farm, there are Murgesi’s horses, donkeys of Martina Franca, the black pig of the Gargano and Puglia sheep. Inside the Falcare Farmhouse, there are also an adventure park, a free Life Park and a giant outdoor chessboard.
The guests of Falcare will be welcomed with typical small manufacturing products of the farm and the owners of Slow Tourism Passport will be entitled to a discount of 10% on the cost of living.
Guests are accommodated in comfortable apartments or studios furnished with taste.
In Falcare Farmhouse, in addition to the farm there are three other structures from various periods, the first includes two dining rooms also used as meeting, a reading room and a TV room.
The second building consists of 8 double rooms and two apartments, each room has a private bathroom with shower and outdoor terrace.
The third property offers five apartments each with a flower name and consist of an entrance room, bathroom, double bedroom and single bedroom.
Each room is equipped with TV and has its own entrance with private terrace.
There is an enclosed parking, a children's playground and a swimming pool with Jacuzzi, equipped with a large solarium.
The structure offers its guests also the Adventure Park, located near Bosco Quarto, with routes suspended to several ground units installed on trees. The path of the Adventure Park is not free as is done with slings and the presence of a helper or instructor and is performed in a group and not individually. Also for lovers of physical well-being, there is a free fitness trail along about two kilometers in the middle of the forest. In addition, guests can practice handling; archery and Mountain Biking are available for healthy cycling in the fabulous scenery of the Gargano National Park.
For breakfast, guests of Falcare Farmhouse can taste jams, breads cookies and tarts, combined with coffee, milk, tea and various herbal teas.
The structure for lunch and dinner serves typical Gargano meat specialties, mushrooms and seasonal vegetables and truffle. The chef uses 80% products from organic farming of the company. Some of the typical dishes are the orecchiette with wild boar ragu and porcini mushrooms, pappardelle with truffles, Troccoli with nuts, wild boar stew and bread soup.
The menu’s price is 25 Euros.
The wines offered are from Puglia, liqueurs are produced on Falcare Farmhouse.
The company is well connected for visits to the city of St. Pio (San Giovanni Rotondo) 20 km away and the Sanctuary of San Giovanni Rotondo. In addition, the town of Monte Sant'Angelo (UNESCO Heritage) and the Grotta of St. Michele feature is only 35 km away. Do not miss the wonderful Gargano coast, about 25 Km away Rodi Garganico, Peschici to 35 Km, Vieste 55 km, Mattinata 60 km. In the surroundings of Falcare Farmhouse, guests can also visit the town of San Marco in Lamis with the famous Convent of San Matteo and the dinosaur Park just 25 Km away, of great interest is the Foresta Umbra and the Lesina and Varano lakes.
